I do realize "genetics" is the answer (like with Dutch people being so tall), but I wonder what led to it.

An extraordinary amount of wars or intrasexual competition between males that lead to a fisherian runaway of men getting bigger and bigger?

Just interesting in general since it's such a small geographic area globally.

I also remember another nation/population which produces very tall men, polynesians.


That also seemed to be due to societal eugenistics.

I don't buy the "it's all nutrition" argument because lots of countries have had good nutrition for ages and are still short.
