He was called the butcher of Bosnia and took part in the Srebrenica Massacre against Bosniaks. So he is a villain in Bosnia but some Serbs argue that he was a patriot who fought bravely for Serbians. Obviously within each country the views vary widely. I am no expert

remember, most people who killed eachother in bosnian war were neighbors, school friends, their fathers were godfathers to each other

Srebrenica was result of constantly killing of Serbs around it by naser oric and other muslim forces in srebrenica...just look for Bratunac massacre...Srebrenica was liberated by Mladic and his forces and there had to be punishment!
