3 Month Update: I originally didn’t want to share my experience because of what I’ve endured. I think it’s unfair to only post the good results and not share the bad ones. So far, I’ve had two procedures that went well. LASIK went well, and another procedure unrelated to my face and height also went well. Anyways:

My left side was advanced incorrectly and fractured. My surgeon said nothing about it. I had to request the ct scans and get a second opinion. the difference is noticeable IRL. currently planning my revision and other surgeries. Unfortunate it turned out this way. For more info check my previous thread. the right side turned out perfectly with no complaints.

I am 3 months in and my left side still has nerve pain and numbness and the my chin is crooked just like the CT scan. I will need a revision but my DR. is giving me problems. Currently planning to go to the EU for a revision. Not happy with the results atm. After getting the surgery my ltr with a girl above my looks match ended. positives: I had one slay above my looks match and 2 below. 2 from IRL and 1 tinder. Currently dealing with dysphoria and the pain from my botch and depression. I would like to give up but I am hanging on trying to escape.

Why do you need to go to the EU for a revision? It’s not exactly a rare or super specialized procedure; aren’t there surgeons in your country who are capable of doing it?

No scan after surgery by default means the surgeon was shitty just for that. Any good surgeon will check their results in scans to evaluate and see if they did things right. Also wtf did he do to your right side it's like he started a chin wing.

Luckily a genioplasty is pretty easy to get a revision for imo, less functional elements involved. Keep going bhai

Left side looks like a chin wing lol. I was very symmetrical before. What happened was the cut dint happen in the correct place and my chin fractured all the way down. thats why its not a clean cut. The second Dr had a great explanation of what happened. I forgot the details. Yeah I think the surgeon knew he messed up. From what I have read just a normal revision makes the procedure way more complicated. The second DR. had said in my case its even more difficult. They will have to cut part of the chin and put it back on the jaw. He also said the hardware used wasn't the best choice and that they would replace it when correcting it.

I want to get infra/zygo implants. When advancing the chin it made my zygos less prominent. I had more of hallow cheek look before. the fat came down and forward on my face. In my case I was balanced before. When moving the lower face you should think about the upper.

A maxillofacial surgeon in my city and 3k. I had seen the portfolio and his cases looked good. I could only find good reviews from him.

No I dint go based off budget I had done several consults. He was one of the only surgeons doing the procedure in my city. Everyone else did chin implants. He had a good portfolio. He was also very confident and said its a super simple easy procedure.

Damn I want a genio but all surgeries come with risk I'm thinking of implant now ngl. But you can have it fixed with a good revision surgery not all is lost

Money, PTO and especially recovery suck so much. It really does take 1 year to get rid of 90% of swelling. Custom implants are nice because the procedure is less invasive and easy to take out and the recovery is much easier.

Can't you do both domestically? Or is it simply cheaper to go to the EU?

Cheaper in the EU. In the states I would still be booking a flight and a stay for a week or two. I would rather just go somewhere else and get out for awhile.

you are 3 months post op, nerves takes time to heal. Also that will not be revised. For the genio itself it looks like yoir bone had assymetry etc prev, looks like the result is within expected standard error. Sure you can revise. But its not really a botched

Agree about nerve damage but you don't think the chin does look malunited on his left side? I thought bone strength from bimax/genio was meant to return to roughly 80% of the pre-op baseline by the 3 month mark.

The ct scan is done directly pre op. The gap is small, if it doesnt heal its wrong on his bone regenration, which does happen

OP says in the original post that he got these CT scans for a second opinion, though - so it's not directly post op.
