box dye vs salon color

I really want darker hair, wanna go from light brown currently to a really dark shade of brown. I was tempted to visit a hair salon at first but then I saw the prices... Will box dye still work or will it look obvious/retarded?

Thanks but I still want darker hair for a more dominant look. I’m really pale and wear dark clothing so would fit my aesthetic as well

yeah box dye is fine, i use to lighten my hair and my mom uses one to paint it dark brown
