Box or Muay Thai

I have like about 3 months of only boxing , and i am trying right now muay thai but i need to start over again. What should i do , start muay thai and learn all the basics again or keep boxing (i dont wanna become pro i only want to know how to defend my self).

box is limited by hands. Muay Thai is mogger martial art with elbows and knees.

If you want to primarily defend yourself, go with thai boxing. What are the quality of the camps? That's going to matter the most.
