After years of ruthless hours trying to escape Sub5 hell, you finally ascend to HTN. A wave of happiness and confidence rushes over you, one which you’ve never felt before. After years of waiting, making stories in your mind, and crying at night, you decide to finally ask out your HTB crush. She says yes, and you schedule a date at the best café in town for the next day. You rush home in happiness and tell your mom; she hugs you and tells you that she’s proud of you and to have fun. The next day rolls around, and you get ready. You wear your best clothes and fragrance, you finally feel confident. You get to the café happier than ever and wait for her to arrive, but out of nowhere, you hear a group of people laughing behind you. You turn around, and you see her recording you with her friends. She looks you in the eye and says, “You really thought I was going to go out with someone who looks the way you do? You’re a disgusting fucking loser.” Your heart drops, and you run out of the café, leaving the flowers you got her on the table while still hearing them laugh. You run home up to your room, and slam the door behind you. You’re angry, angry at yourself for believing that something could finally go right for once, angry at all those who laughed at you, and angry at the divine being who made you the way you are. You tell yourself, “Ascend or die,” and grab the HGH you bought from Indiamart. You inject 20 IUs, but it turns out it was contaminated with an unknown virus carrying a 100% mortality rate. You feel your chest pounding as your heart rate starts to exponentially increase, you begin to feel dizzy, and your mouth fills with blood. You lie on the floor, wondering what you did wrong in life. As you’re surrounded by nothing but your hopeless thoughts and empty vials of peptides, you think of your mother who always loved you regardless of how you looked; you think of your father, who was always proud to announce you as his son. While you struggle to breathe through the blood in your mouth drowning you, you hear your mother downstairs making your favorite dinner to celebrate your date as she knew how happy you were about it. You also hear her talking about it with your dad, both of them seem happy and excited to hear how it went. As your heart begins to fail and the final electrical signals are sent to your brain, you think of all the times you were a kid at the park with your mother. You think of all the times you went to play catch with your father. You think of all the birthdays you had with your family. In your final moments, you realize that even if you were Chad, no one in this accursed world would’ve ever truly loved you as much as your parents did. They would've hugged you if you had just told them the truth about everything, and deep in your mother's heart, you were always the most handsome man anyways, and now you took yourself away from them. You wish you could go back in time and give the flowers you bought to you mother, as she was the only one who deserved them. Realizing your fate, you use your last strength to try and grab your phone, not to call for help, but to leave a message to your parents that you truly loved them with all your heart, yet you fail in doing so. You hear your mother calling your name, and tear slowly falls from your lateral canthus as your heart stops. While the 2 people who would've done anything for you to make you happy wait for you at the dinner table, your room is silent and empty, with only the lingering energy of pure regret, and the smell of your favorite dinner.
