Before social media, if you called someone ugly, people would subconciously agree but still conciously disagree and voice said disagreement out of empathy and genuinely being optimistic and bluepilled.

Nowadays, normies are open to acknowledging the importance of looks. If you scroll on social media for 5 minutes, normies are making jokes about what happens if you're attractive versus not, making references to being "chopped," and so on. The correlation between being subconciously seen as ugly by others and actually being more undesirable is increasing with time.

They have always done this, they will make fun of someone’s looks then virtue signal about how it doesn't matter. Normies double think all the time. They judge subconsciously but are afraid to acknowledge it consciously by reflecting it and applying it to themselves. If they were to accept looks maxing they would have to bridge the gap between the conscious and unconscious. To self reflect and see that they and everyone around them are such superficial creatures.
