I've seen some posts here (alongside irl convos) of people being concerned that braces will cause recession. I'm here to argue the opposite and that if you're eligible to get braces you should strongly consider as I feel it is one of the cheaper options that allows for better jaw projection.
For context, I got braces when I was 16 and had them for 2 years and 4 months. My case was that my jaw was recessed and that I had a significant overbite. I had multiple phases of treatment, including elastics to pull my jaw forward.
As long as you follow to the nail what your orthodontist tells you, (wearing your elastics, wearing your retainer etc...) and you do monthly check ups then you will turn out fine.
Unfortunately this is one of those thing where it only applies to a certain age group, not only will the results be better and more significant the earlier you do it. But its jester being 20+ and wearing braces.
