Braces at 19yo, wore plate that fixed teeth and also expanded palette when I was 10yo

I will be getting braces soon. I have a slight overjet of my top front teeth. Jawline and mandible is very good but my top teeth cause the area above my lips to almost look fully straight from the side. My teeth aren’t terrible as I had a plate when younger but they are nowhere near perfect.

Saying “braces descended me” is impossible and most likely LARP from brokefags. I don’t see why if you can get braces you wouldn’t do it.

Anybody got any personal experiences from braces or any other tips? Bonus for before and after photos.

Don’t come to me about “damon” braces or whatever, I will be getting standard braces. We have the money for best ortho.

i pretty much couldnt eat food for like 5 days and i was on liquid diet lmao
good for cutting tho
anyways the pain goes away pretty quick and it only hurts a lil when they tighten it

Have you noticed any positive changes in your face shape? I also have a question, does your default tongue posture adjust with braces?

not really i didnt have any noticeable changes in my face shape and i dont see why you would either
and yeah my tongue did feel weird at first along with my upper lip but it feels normal now and i can have proper posture

Thanks, just wondering because I am seeing a lot of talk ok TikTok about braces changing your face. Mostly for the better it looks like. How old are you?
