Over Braces fucked up my face, i cant stop thinking about it

I never had a single crocked tooth, i always looked good. Then when i was 15 a friend of my mother, who is an orthodontist, wanted to make some buck and made me wear braces. I was going to reject but at the week this happened i was with the mentality of "Lets respect the older ones once in your lfie" so i decided to hear my mother and put this shit for 4 years WITHOUT the necessity. I never thought this would have an impact in anything othr than the teeth. I always had a mild overjet but i used braces for 4 years and it changed nothing. In fact he tried for a year to make me to wear the elastics to solve this problem, but my laziness saved me from this, that would fuck my face even more. Then when i toke the braces off the overjet looked bigger, i started seeing my nose looked bigger, my assimetries got bigger, that a nasiolabial fold was accentuated in my right side, that the smile in my right side was appearing a little of the gum, that i lost my canine sharpness on the left side, that the dark circles on the right side were more proeminent, that the right side looked puffy and that my face looked longer (ALl that without any knowledge about looks, just after i would find orthotropics who would describe all that). Its just pain to be in the right track all the time and in the last years of development to fuck up, its like i cannot finish anything well in my life. Im in college for 6 months now and i cant do nothing other than researchc about that, im literally losing my life time because of this shit. To see a long face when open the camera is pure pain. Yeah its a vent fuck it and the worst is to not have anyone to talk about that shit, no one cares and if u talk about looks u r vain.

it does pull back the upper jaw, it happened to a classmate of mine but I'm certain he doesn't notice it because he's a naive normie.

if you've had extractions or an overbite it could make you more asymmetrical or recessed. if you see your maxilla collapsing, stop using elastics and start praying.

yeah I took a break from the forum while on vacation and I came back afew days ago, I even told you about sea salt spray lol but thank you.

I doubt anything horrible will happen without elastics, I just hope that your orthodontist is knowledgeable and that you trust him/her.

ok my bad just read your post and that just sounds like negligence or lack of expertise or some shit because damn - 4 years for a minor overjet?? i had a massive overjet and got invisalign which lasted ~1 year (im still waiting for refinements) AND the orthodontist literally told me the improvements i would see beforehand and hes been largely right.

i still dont think much is lost, go see a reputed orthodontist that isn't related to your mother (check reviews) and try to get a quote on invisalign. they'll tell u the entire plan and how long it'll take beforehand so u can just make up your mind then. good luck
