Braces overjet

I’ve got an overjet and my lower jaw looks slightly recessed. I’m wondering if braces alone can actually help with that, or if something like a Herbst appliance or rubber bands would be better if none of those what should I ask my orthodontist?

If actual overjet it really depends on what causes it, it could be not enough space or whatever. Ask your Ortho about it
