ive got bad recession in my mandible because of overbite+overjet combo :feelswhy:

from what i read on here the braces with rubber bands to fix overbite has recessed some peoples maxilla, just want to know if its true before i get it done
not sure if its real or not because ive seen some contridictions and not even sure if it even brings mandible foward, i need to do more research on my own but in the meantime i thought i'd ask to see if im even making meaningful progress

should i get braces when im a adult then when the sutures in my maxilla are fully hardened
Yes you could do that, or you could ask your orthodontists to get different braces or to not get class two elastics. If you are getting these elastics to fix an overbite, instead get class two springs, or a herbal appliance. Both increase forward growth in the mandible without pushing the maxilla back. If your orthodontists say no, beg your parents to change orthodontists for your own good.

Bro you’re like 2 years old

i think your referring to class two elastics which do slightly pull the maxilla back, so yes its true.
