As a innocent, stupid 14 year old, nothing but excitement filled me upon hearing the news I would receive braces. 4 premolar extractions and some recession later, I fucking regret it. I honestly don't mind the way I look, its just the thought of my true potential if I never extracted and actually expanded my palate. Naturally my zygomatics aren't as prominent as I would like them to be, so If I was to have gotten the palatel expansion, it would bring nothing but benefits.

Yeah bro when those gaps close its over you will look worse and have less space for your tounge etc and it will be hard to recover from. Ive also had premolar extractions and I wouldve done this if I knew about it at the time.

Yeah i just never knew. What my plan is later on is to complain of narrow archway and breathing problems, hoping they'll allow me a palate expander or even get invasalign with expanders.

Any method for fixes? I'm thinking of Invisalign with expanders. To be honest I'm not too reccesed.

Then it's not all that bad, just get a retainer so your tooth gaps don't get filled by surrounding teeth that would reduce your palate size. One day you can get implants and new braces that will fix it. Untill then, prevention of worsening

I had to get 4 premolar extractions then power chains which have closed the gaps, its pretty much over

are the gaps closed already? You should complain NOW. before it is too late. fuck those power chains and you should have at least asked for TADs instead to mesialize the molars instead of retracting the anterior teeth.

Yes now unfortunately the gaos are closed. Even after asking for a maxillary expansion, the consultant orthodontist kept saying I dont need it and it doesn't teeth don't correlate with breathing and palate etc. I'm going to visit a gp after I get these braces off and trybget refferes for a cbt scan and go from there.
