but it didnt , so the dentist now say that i have to get braces to move it forward

Braces tend to recess the maxilla unfortunately
but if they're used for the purpose to create space and increase forward growth
will they still cause maxillary recession ?

How old are you

16 (17 in few months)
Yeah it might cause it if you're early 17 because your jaw keeps developing till 20s
but since you're older it's probably fine

cause what , maxillary recession or forward growth ?

recession , but what I meant is braces can fuck u up if you're like 14, 13, younger, when your jaw is developing, as you grow older the bones start developing less and less and you will probably have minimal impact

@NZb6Air do braces affect facial symmetry ?
just braces (without elastics and shit) don't affect the jaws, only the dentoalveolar process

Think I had a case similar to this, where a tooth grew behind one and it was just sitting there behind the row of teeth. I recently got it fixed with invisalign. A lot of ppl seem to say that braces receed you, etc. I noticed that my jaw got slightly recessed, but this was good because before that I had a slight underbite which made my jaw jut out a little. Fixed that issue. But I think braces could cause some recession depending on what treatment you get.
