it's because cruise aged features don't look good on a 60 year old man. He dyes his hair and probably wears a wig or thickens it with a hair fiber because he doesn't want the make-up artists to touch his hair during his interviews.

While pitt may have something with his hair, it looks more natural on him for some reason.
plus pitt has always better nose, cruise whole face looks as it was pumped with fillers a few days ago

Aging in Hollywood is not linear. No matter how much money you have, you have to space out cosmetic procedures and allow for recovery times. It is possible that Cruise underwent a fat transfer recently and that is why he looks bloated in recent pics, it is standard to overfill on fat transfers because as much as 50% of the grafted fat is absorbed by the body the first year.
