Brazil is lowkey more segregated and unequal between blacks and white than USA, it's just there are way more mulattos (who are thrown in with the blacks) so the line isn't as clearly obvious

from an USA perspective almost all people in brazil are pardos, but from the pictures you can see plenty of lighter skinned people that are considered "white" in brazil (despite being mixed) being killed in the Rio raid

our lynchings arent racially or ethnically motivated like in USA or Europe, this is something gringos usually dont understand because their lynchings are

people in latinoamerica lynch for two main reasons:
1- common people's mobs in retaliation for a heinous crime (child abuse, rxpx)
2- drug cartel related violence

brazilian census point that most people that live in favelas are white / light skinned mulattos - also because the majority of brazilian ancestry is white as well (60% -65%, versus 15%-25% black ancestry)

also USA had an actual racial apartheid a few decades ago unlike us - so we are less segregated than the USA, not more. thats why most people here are mixed, our families are commonly inter-racial unlike in the USA where theyre ethnic-centric as fuck
