It’s not necessarily broad shoulders but more so to do with your shoulder to waist ratio at least in terms of aesthetics. Broad shoulders are also a signal of good strength and genetics because you need wide clavicles and the propensity to put on a significant amount of shoulder muscle.

Purely bone structure. Exercise can add maybe a couple inches total. Long clavicle produces broad shoulders, not muscle.
