I’m 17 and think i’m a classic case of a diffuse thinner. Ppl have been commenting on it for years and it’s pretty much one of my biggest insecurities. I need you guys to answer the questions below. Pls don’t comment some retarded shit i just want some replies to my questions. I’ll attach some pics too

1. My hair is insanely fucking thin but I have never actually noticed my hair falling out. They say u can lose 50 hairs a day and theres no harm. Meanwhile in my case, when i’m showering i don’t lose any hair and when i wake up i maybe have 1 hair on my pillow case max. Where is my hair going ??

2. I am gonna start taking 5% foam minoxidil. I don’t wanna start DHT blocking until i do a blood test, also i haven’t finished puberty so it might not be a good idea to hop on fin yet. Is this smart?

3. How do i apply the foam minoxidil?

Lift the sides too, see if they have the same density as the top. Could just be naturally thin hair if that's the case. If only the top is that thin, then probably alopecia. Would recommend RU58841 10% if it is alopecia

Also don’t cope with topical minoxidil only, you will be so sorry in the future. Take 2.5 mg dut, RU and topical minox on top of that

They are similar in density. Would u dismiss it as just having naturally thin hair then?

Is this the first time you noticed your hair becoming really thin? You never had your hair falling out as much as it does now?

The whole reason that i don’t wanna do anything too intense is because i think there’s a chance that i haven’t been coping by just dismissing it as thin hair for the past 2 years. Honestly i am not 100% sure if i am balding per se, but I more so just want thicker hair

Better be safe than sorry. You don’t have much to lose anyway, if you are scared of a 5ARi then start with topical minoxidil and RU

It’s honestly been the same for like 2 years. I remember one day when i was like 15 I noticed my hair genuinely looks fucked from certain angles. Then over the course of a few months ppl would start commenting on it or joking about it. Now pretty much once a week someone will comment on how im balding

Hmm, get a scalp biopsy done
I live in the UK. Does that require me going to a priv clinic? I don’t rlly have a job and i gotta focus on studies so im trying to be as cost efficient as possible rn

People got used to it. You’re most likely balding, it’s not that rare to start balding at puberty already, it’s a very slow process that can even happen at age 15 (for me it did as well). You are finished with puberty so stop lying to yourself.

Hop on dut, RU and topical minoxidil

You have finished puberty bro stop coping
I was 15 and equally hairy but I’ve grown 2 inches since then. U do realise that there still is minor changes until ur early 20s. That’s me at 15 and i’ve def changed a lot since then

You need to get a scalp biopsy done the thinning is strange, might not be mpb but it could be a weird pattern of mpb

Do you shed thin hairs? Do you shed hairs that are thick at the ends and thin at the roots?

Did you have a extremely stressful experience in the last year? Perhaps a surgery/breakup death in family?

Are u a diffuse thinner too? If so did u actually notice hair fall or nah cuz im rlly confused

Hmm as i said in the initial question, i literally notice very minimal hairfall. Maybe under 5 hairs a day, and they just look normal.
I’ve had no stress or anything which would augment my hairloss

You look exactly the same, but if it makes you sleep at night then ig

No, I genuinely just have AGA lol

Also scalp biopsy are pretty expensive in the UK and i also cba to pay money to just be told shit that i probably already know. I’ve had a clinic analyse my hair before around a year ago, and they just told me that yeah i would be justified in using minoxidil cuz i have pretty fucking thin hair

Not talking abt looks bro. Im saying that i grew 2 inches despite looking “old” for my age in that pic as well. So thats my justification to believing i am still not fully finished with puberty

So wait, AGA entails that u don’t notice actual hair fall? This is a rlly important question to me because it might be the same shit i’m experiencing

Changes in your 20s are due to fat pad changes.

You need Dutasteride or it's over. and RU.

Ok bro, use RU and topical minoxidil for now until you’re “finished with puberty” lol

Don't listen to that guy, puberty isn't completely finished until early 20s. Your face will mature, some people grow even in late teens and I grew 2cm in my early 20s.

You do notice hairfall, I don’t touch my hair since if I do my hand is getting full of hair

I don’t think you’re a diffuse thinner tbh, go to a doctor

I don’t think i’m a diffuse thinner either. Honestly i could just rephrase this entire thread as me having insanely thin hair and wondering if minoxidil will thicken it

I would try and get a scalp biopsy done regardless, its expensive but it might prevent you from nuking dht for no reason.

Check vitamins that are related to hair like iron, vitamin d zinc folate

I would say its MPB but the pattern is a bit strange. If you have bald people in your family its probably that.

Hes 17 and already smart enough to know he's not done fully developing while your dumbass just repeats what he read in other threads like a parrot.

Minoxidil won’t do much, it’s a bet, I personally wont rely solely on it. Try RU with it

this could also be because of issues in your diet so keep an eye on that

Alright, but if i’m gonna get a scalp biopsy then i’ll have to wait for a while, cuz i definitely don’t have money for that shit. Here’s a different question
Is it an acceptable course of action if I just use topical minoxidil for the next few months and then once i can get the scalp biopsy i potentially hop on fin? Like is that better than nothing or would it just be cope

Also i’ve been supplementing zinc and vitamin D for like 2 years so my levels should be fine

Hmm my diet is decent for the most part. Not much processed food and it’s pretty balanced

You finished your puberty. You had too high testosterone whilst having seemingly very active aromatase, thus limiting bone projection since the long plates fused early.

Your only bonemass seems to be from t mediated periosteal apposition and not longitudinal lenght.

yikes

also why your hair falls out. high 5ar drives hair thinning. Get on Fin/Dut as FAST AS POSSIBLE. Think about a transplant or a hair system and go to an endo before.

I’ll be honest i understand like 50% of what u just said or maybe less. But i’ll reiterate again my hair is NOT falling out. This was what i mentioned in my first question. It’s just been thin as fuck to the point where it’s see through in certain lighting m. But i lose under 10 hairs a day honestly

Nobody not finished with puberty shows any of those symptoms. Please educate yourself he is finished. The only thing could be slight changes in growth hormone, driving him to be leaner.

Ofc the face remodels, but hes mostly done.

I dont post my face here.

Not everybody finishes growing at the same rate. I also gained D girth that was measurable.

I have a theory that development can get delayed and hindered by a shit diet and lifestyle. Yeah, the studies show otherwise, but who in the studies stop eating goyslop and switch to an animal based diet. None of them.

Same difference.

I put it into AI to make it simpler. I hope you take your time to read this. Your case is pretty obvious.

Here is the result:

The statement is saying that your puberty has already finished — meaning your growth plates (the cartilage zones at the ends of long bones that allow you to grow taller) have fused shut. During puberty, your testosterone levels were apparently very high, but your body also had a lot of aromatase, an enzyme that converts testosterone into estrogen. Estrogen speeds up the closing of those growth plates. So, even though you had plenty of testosterone to drive muscle and masculine features, the extra estrogen caused the plates to fuse earlier than they otherwise might have. That’s what they mean by “limiting bone projection” — your bones stopped lengthening earlier than ideal.

When they say your bone mass comes mostly from “T-mediated periosteal apposition,” they mean that testosterone helped your bones grow thicker and denser on the outside (the periosteum is the outer layer of bone where new bone tissue is added). So you got denser, more robust bones, but not longer ones. (edit: the reason why you look roundish and not 3d)

The “yikes” is just an emotional reaction — the person thinks that’s not a great combo.

Finally, the hair part: testosterone is converted by an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase (5AR) into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a potent androgen — it strengthens body hair and beard growth but causes scalp hair to miniaturize and fall out if you’re genetically sensitive. That’s why they mention Finasteride (Fin) or Dutasteride (Dut), drugs that block 5AR and reduce DHT levels. The “transplant or hair system” part is about cosmetic solutions, but “go to an endo” means you should see an endocrinologist first to get your hormones checked before deciding anything.

Bro this literally answered NOTHING. I literally asked u to explain why i don’t lose hairs, and u pretty much just sent a chat gpt explaining ur original msg. Pls note that in my original post not only did i say that i iterate that i dont notice proper hairfall, but i also proceeded to say that i dont want any retarded answers. Just get to the point man
