Didn't realize you were an attorney as well. My personal favorite was trusts and estates work and seeing family members avoid having will contestation/litigation by leaving their relatives exactly one penny. Lmao

yea, i hate cases where interpersonal relations are involved (whether between family members or romantic partners)

commercial law, M&A, law of obligations (#1 for me) and criminal law (white collar crime only) are my favorite areas

US, specifically east coast state. This was over 10 years ago and I no longer work in that area but basically it was a loophole to avoid contestation by next of kin etc. if the decedent left them literally anything. So fucked up. No idea if the Uniform Probate Code or any sort of common law case fixed that. It was brutal to read

Lawyering is easy money if you are any good, tbh. 300 $ per banal 1.5-page submission you can even type after 5 shots of vodka. And this is in civil law in EU, i can only imagine what it's like overseas

I've made 600k E in a balkan shithole in 2022 alone. Not to mention status and intangible benefits that come with knowing everything about the major players in the city
