Why are Turkish buildings completely collapsing from an earthquake while Ukrainian buildings get bombed and just stay up with holes inside them.

Not how it works. The ground shook for almost 1 min in turkey. It was so big they felt it in Syria / Lebanon with many casualties in Syria as well. The ground shaking harsh for 1 min spreading to other countries vs a rocket / air strike? lol. If the bomb is strong enough the house would collapse but not too much around the area.

1. Earthquakes usually destroy the foundation of a building first, litteraly targeting the thing that keeps the building standing, whereas bombs/missles just destroy the upper & outer layers and don’t effect the structural integrity too much.

2. Two different countries with different climates/weather. So completely different building codes. Ukraine gets very cold compared to Turkey so they likely construct buildings with thicker materials to keep the buildings warm.
