Thought he was going to declare war/bombing/embargo of Venezuela. Turns out it was just an announcement that all soldiers are getting an extra $1776 check for not invading Venezuela or doing much of anything else since the US hasn't been in an open coflict in more than 3 years. And there was some other hype about misc shit.

How was Vietnam unc

Vietnam ended when I was about 13, so I don't remember much of anything about it. I had a cousin that voluteered, servered and survived in Vietnam, he was like 10 year older than me so didn't ever talk with him about it. I had a brother that was 9 years older, thus eligible for the draft. Draft numbers were issued by birth date, and published in the major newspapers, my brother ultimately had a high draft number thus did not get drafted. But I still remember my parents driving, with me in the back seat at like the age of 8, into the city at like 1am to get the early edition newspaper to see the draft numbers, because they could not wait till we got our regular newspaper the following afternoon
