I been hearing that since 2014: Copper shortage could spark price surge

Price copper past 7 years.
Copper

IMAGINE, How much money people missed/lost that decided to go lng in Copper and not just buy a boring S&P500 index.

Maybe this time it's different, maybe not. I dunno.
A broken clock is also right some times

You can't seem to go wrong with S&P500 and Nasdaq Composite funds

How big is your exposure OP?

3% or 7% ????

What's that?
I just recommend buying copper, its value will increase in the future.
How big is your position? You don't have to say

already coping tbh lol

that's to bold of an statement.
when you dollar cost average it, than more true.

If someone had dumped ALL his money into S&P500 on the year 2000.

Than,
he had to wait like 12 years to get back to break even. NOT corrected for inflation (whicg was still quit high in that time). Probably iwth adding in inflation he had to wait 15 years.

Imagine waiting 15 years to BEP. And looking @ losses for so long.

That's fair to say. Equity markets carry risk.

However this this individual would have to:
  1. Not reinvest dividends
  2. Buy the very top of the market with a lump sum
Most investors reinvest dividends and invest on a continuous basis

I think that the S&P500 is the best equity index out there. It's heavily diversified and continues to outperform other global/domestic indexes
Capture

Obviously. If someone wants no risk. they can get 0.01% interest on bonds or bankaccount.

Risk should equal higher potential gains. And thus higher potential losses.

High risk is a good thing, when there is a high upside potential as well. Than high risk makes perfect sense.

How much copper have you bought? lol
None right now, but it looks like a very good opportunity, the only problem is that there's a pretty big difference between the price of bulk copper and the price of bullion bars and coins. You will also need a lot of storage space if you want to deposit tons of copper(the price right now is around $9500/ton).

You don't have to buy physical copper you could buy a copper fund

Buy silver instead

Yeah, I don't trust those - you don't get anything palpable and can easily be scammed, it's a completely different thing when you actually own the actual metal - now, gold and silver are more valuable, easier to purchase at their real price and don't take much storage space, they are ideal if you want to invest in metals, but there are also other metals who will become more valuable in the future because they will be in high demand or the resources are limited: copper, nickel, noble metals, rare-earth elements, etc...
