if you wanna make it private you can buy BTC from the legal sites exchange it for Monero on the Dark web and then exchange it back into BTC and store it in self custody wallet like Phantom but im too lazy to do this shi. Its not illegal its in a grey area. unless your moving like 100k they wont get suspicious not that they can do anything anyway cause monero is untraceable unlike BTC Which has a public blockchain so anyone can view the transactions even though they are anonymous they arent private so if someone uses it to do something illegal they can trace it back to the CEX which they bought it from. When you swap BTC to Monero the trail goes cold for anyone following it because Monero has a private blockchain which no one can view. But its a nightmare to do all this, hella slow.
