Buying a multi-family housing unit

Anyone have any experience with buying multifamily housing units? Specifically a triplex. Planning on buying a property soon, for any landlords lurking on the forum any things I should look into, or be wary of? Also was planning on purchasing the property in a neighboring state which I visit often. Located in America
