Dumbell lateral raises are shit compared to them

Cable you go full range of motion and beyond and tension stays on shoulder on the negative

easy as fuck to overload too get a five pound plate and add to pulley

very true plus you can easily do them leaning to change the angle your shoulder gets hit at. Gotta break out the incline bench and lay on it sideways like you're getting ready to take some dick if you want to accomplish the same thing with dumbells

Machine also mogs if your gym has one. Lateral raises are one of the most form sensitive, delicate movements and the tension/load varies wildly between the bottom of the rep and the top if you use dumbbells which is not a great combo

Goal is to get my cable lateral raises same strength as my bicep curls
 
Yes it allows constant tension throughout the entire movement.
