So frustrating. I fasted all day with snake juice and a bit of black coffee. Not even that hungry, I feel fine. But then I go to bed, and like always, I can’t sleep for shit.

I get severe insomnia when I eat below maintenance. If it weren’t for this I’d have been shredded long ago. Does anyone else have this problem or advice?

And btw this happens on a normal deficit too, not just if I fast. Many days I won’t eat at maintenance without even trying but then I try to sleep and fail, so I end up having another snack or meal at like 2 am just so I can sleep. I just want these ten pounds gone but my body doesn’t want to let that happen.

Thats how it is for everyone, its not just you. The only solution, other than sleeping pills, is to slowly get closer to whatever deficit you’re going for day by day so you get used to it. So start out at maintenance calories, then the next day go just like 50 calories below, and maybe go around that for a few days, and then try to go 100 calories below, and so on. You just need to get used to having a deficit. But if you do intermittent fasting, your body can never get used to the deficit so you will always have problems sleeping

I haven’t heard other people talk about this tbh. And that’s fucked. If I try to it all structured and precise, slow and steady, i don’t know if I’ll ever get it done.

It’s so easy for me to fast for a day but then I always get reset by insomnia

Mostly water weight presumably but congrats dude. If I could sleep I could probably fast for days no problem

Yeah I know what you mean, thats what makes so many things like this difficult, I have never been able to ease into something like this. I think if you do intermittent fasting then some sleeping pills could be ok because if you just take them for a few days when fasting you wont get dependent on the sleeping pills. Something like benadryl is cheap and works well

I literally took ambien tonight. I got it prescribed to help me get used to my new cpap. Maybe if I hadn’t been wearing that I could’ve fallen asleep but who knows. I just hope that I can blame all the insomnia on the machine and get my dose increased bc 5 mg is not gonna cut it

Caved in and had some leftover ground pork chink stir fry, a bit of fish, a few small pieces of pizza, and a glass of milk. Probably 1000-1200 cal total. Hungrier now than before I ate it but hoping I get some insulin spike to tire me out. Gonna smoke some cbd and hope I can ko

This happened to me too, it’s the hardest part of fasting

You need to stop looking at screens, maybe read a book or smth, try to not drink coffee before bed, just do everything possible to get sleepy

Yes. Don't go to sleep feeling hungry. Try to eat something before you sleep.

Never knew that was a thing. I could barely sleep last time I cut my weight. Thanks

maybe eat all your calories right before going to bed
