I just bought this computer for 600 USD. It was a steal I THINK. GPU is 6700xt (12 gb VRAM) and CPU is Ryzen 5500 + 16 GB RAM 3200 mhz + 1 TB SSD + 2 year warranty and 1 month unconditional return privilege guarantee

I know im retarded for buying mismatched GPU and CPU but the deal seemed too good. My monitor is 144 hz 1080p, how hard will the CPU cuck me?

At 1080p??? The 6700xt is a 2k resolution card. Why the fuck do all redditors say to pair it with at least Ryzen 5600?

For reference, the 5500 I have is almost identical in performance to the 3600 (non x variant)

more often than not its the processor thats overpowered and not the gpu
im confident even my 2600 can handle that gpu, since even in modern games like cyberpunk on 1440p my cpu usage is never close to 100%

CPU usage isn't a good way to gauge bottleneck, this is a common misconception. even if your CPU wasn't at 95%+, the single core performance is one of the most important things and that can have a huge bottle neck

I just found a video with my combination and .y suspicion was right, there is a big 20% bottleneck from this dog shit CPU. However the bottleneck is 5% at 2k resolution. The problem is I don't have a 2k monitor and i can't afford one. FUCK. Now I have to upgrade the motherboard and buy a 5600x on top fml

No no dude I already bought this computer, there's no money to be saved, it went on sale for the same price of a 6600 + i5 11400f. I got an EXTREMELY good deal, I'm just worried about the CPU is all

Idk about anything except for Nvidia 3090ti and Intel i9. I bought this shit like a minute ago:

Thoughts? Should I buy a better motherboard and CPU or just buy a 2k monitor to alleviate the bottleneck? I have a 144hz ips 1080p monitor

most modern games arent that cpu intensive, it shouldnt be too bad tbh

I personally wouldnt bother upgrading it but im cheap

You're right, it's not a pressing matter but I will upgrade it maybe 3 years in the future

But I love CPU intensive games like minecraft and Garry's mod

@MarkCorrigan bhai can I have your CS input on my hardware?

wouldn't cost much for a better CPU
I can't get a 5600 even if I sold my 5500 and stacked 200 USD on top not even mentioning the motherboard change

you already have a 5500? it should be fine for current games

I'm thinking of getting a 5600 + 6600xt

idk much about current parts I last built a pc 6 years ago

Yeah I found a deal online for a 6700xt with a 5500 for 600 USD. Insane deal so I had to take it. I was given no choice to change the CPU. It arrives today

5600 and 6600xt is great combo. stronger CPU than necessary but it will be a good thing if you like playing CPU intensive games like Garry's mode and minecraft

It arrived boyo. Any good games to stress test the GPU and see that it isn't fucked?

You can literally play the newest games on that PC, it's good enough
