Does camera distorsiton really exist or is it just cope. Like if im clapped on my phone camera am i really clapped or irl i look to people like i look in the mirror to myself? If yes why do other people look practically the same irl and when they send pics on ig or snap for example. Is it just placebo or true. Also what camera is the most accurate? Thanks.

Also idk what prefix to put im sorry its my first time posting.

no, really depends. Focal lens, distance when taking picture as well

depends on what is causing you to look bad on the phone cam

If you are clapped on your phone camera you are chopped irl, stop with the cope. Back camera (inverted) is how you look to others but at the end of the day you just have to accept reality and rope.

you will never find someone who looks good irl that looks way uglier/different in pictures. Sometimes there's a difference but not enough to turn someone who is genuinely gl into an ugly subhuman, maybe average at best.

irrelevant to the thread but on another note, I'm pretty sure I know you. Aren't you on that intelligence scaling discord server?

Nope. Mirrors don't lie, and the only time back cameras don't lie is if you are standing 2 meters away from the camera or facing a mirror, and take a photo at eye level height with a level head. Your statement is false.

Nah not you i meant jj1yden, the guy that responded to the original thread mb

Anyways the mirror is technically the most accurate, but there are some caveats. There's some distortion there too, some of your features will look bigger in proportion to others even if they aren't. Like if you lean in close to the bathroom mirror your lips will look much larger in comparison to the overall size of your face, but if you step back they look much smaller. Also, subconsciously you will fraud and get used to your own imperfections in the mirror, which will likely prevent you from seeing your own face's flaws the way other people would.

dont break your mind, if you wanna truly know how you look just buy a inverted mirror.

I don't agree, if u look subhuman on an expensive phone, ur not very handsome irl, some phones are very good at capturing real proportions. What I do think, though, is that on some very cheap android phones, distortion can turn a positive canthal tilt, into a VERY negative one, I know people who irl have insane eye areas, yet look subhuman on camera, me included, the mirror is obviously 100% accurate if you ignore the reversion of the reflection, and that's what you should believe, but ONLY if the mirror is straight and has been mounted properly
