I got invisalign at 15 ( a month or two before turning 16) and 9 months later I got permanent retainers for my top and bottom teeth. But was a permanent retainer a bad idea because I think it's preventing my maxillary growth? I found a lot of mixed information about the topic. Some say it is not a problem others say otherwise.

Doubt it. the only thing it does is keep the teeth together. its just a thin wire yes?

dont even get a retainer lmao, i had braces at 13 it's been 3 years and my teeth are still straight

No, it just keeps your arch from going back to what it was before

your maxilla can still recess back with it though, so it isn't like it just pauses your maxilla's development
