I’m looking into getting bimax surgery and having it covered through my insurance. I found a surgeon in my area who is in-network.

Many on this site have said that regular bimax surgeons are “bluepilled”. This would worry me but… apparently the surgeon I’m looking at also has a background in facial cosmetic surgery. Would this help my case if I were to ask him to give me more “aesthetic” results? In other words, can this “bluepilled” surgeon give me “Blackpilled” results?

you should be more worried about if a blackpilled maxillofacial surgeon can give blackpilled results to you

There ain't no "blackpilled" surgeon or a regular surgeon. The so called blackpilled ones just market themselves heavily. If you look at some of the results of the "bluepilled" surgeons, they look as good.

Really?

Show your surgeon morphs of your face, your profile etc. Tell them "this is what I want my after to look like" and ask them if it's doable.

You gotta tell them precisely what you want.

Is there a specific software/website that I can use to make a “morph”? Can any users on this site help me?

Try using face app, might work

Ask beforehand if he's sharing the virtual planning with you. Case not, you're getting botched.

if you leave it to the insured surgeons guaranteed they will be too conservative and make the whole thing a massive waste of time. if you go this route you have to be on top of things. Virtual planning, specific measurements, etc. don’t let the surgeon dictate your surgery, with a blackpilled surgeon you can do that but with these insured surgeons you don’t want to wake up and have little to no aesthetic result after all the effort.

The insured surgeon I’m going to see, has a background in facial cosmetics tho. Does that make a difference or nah?

blackpilled surgeons are basically skilled surgeons who are willing to do bimax just for aesthetic purposes. There are skilled surgeons who might reject you just because you don't have any functional issues.

Let’s be honest tho, the most skilled jaw surgeons (aesthetic results) aren’t getting paid by insurance companies, they’re working at cosmetic offices taking in big $$$ from patients paying out of pocket.

Eh I seriously doubt jaw surgeons in like Nebraska have the eye for aesthetics. If OP is very recessed and wants an average jaw he shouldn’t worry (as seen in your Nova Scotia example), but if he’s like below average looking to get a high tier jaw then I don’t think they have the skill or experience to do that.

The goal for me is to get an avaerage or slightly above average jaw and then pursue a sliding genioplasty. So that’s fine with me tbh

I doubt above average unless you’re super lucky but average jaw bimax + genio will certainly do the trick. Never underestimate the power of sliding genio. For that procedure you need a surgeon who will make the 10-12 mm movement, I’m sure if you live in a big U.S. city there will be one. Are you doing vertical movement and do you know how many mm you want the sliding movement? I’m getting one in 2 months.

I want as much movement as possible or at least enough to get my mandible to my brow bone from a side profile. I also found out the surgeon I’m looking at does CW and CCW rotations. Totally whitepilled rn

I don’t know how many millimeters I want the sliding genioplasty yet because I want to wait till after bimax to do it. After the bimax I will talk to a separate surgeon to do the sliding genioplasty where I will pay out of pocket.
