Can anyone redpill me on aloe vera?

Anyone got any FIRST HAND experience with it? Can anyone link any peer reviewed study? I read it's good, it's bad...
Appareantly it's good for skin and scalp since it's moist af and has many nutrients and minerals.

i have the plant of it at my home i used it on my skin before every day to fix acne but i got no acne improvements but it felt good on my hair
