AI can easily hit a dead end in terms of advancement. Look at smartphones, there's no more advancing to be done in that department. And people thought we would have hologram phones in the future, lol. They tried pushing folding smartphones and nobody cared all that much.

No consumer demand = no advancement. Actual advancement would have demand. The point of smartphones was that you had a pocket computer anywhere with you. They then perfected it (good cameras, thin bezels, big screens) and that was about it.

Human-tier AI seems to be far fetched. Ai is just gonna end up being useful as a tool to cut out some of the mundane and repetitive parts of some jobs. It's gonna get better at it, for sure, but its not going to reach sentience.
