Can Being Bloated Mimic Recession?

Title. I'm curious because everytime I google "fat people weight loss transformation" some of em looked recessed before hand. Is it just me overthinking it? Or does the hyoid fat mimic a sort of recession.

i looked recessed as hell before losing some weight, it's still not perfect but it's def a boost, i think it's due to both water retention and fat making the face look puffier and hiding the bones and rounding your face out.

maybe if you are really fat, just lose weight in general even if you are recessed or not
