can braces help to move the lower jaw forward? my maxilla is good but the lower jaw does not grow forward with the face, i am 16

Not an expert, but I think you can achieve such movement with elastics if you're young enough. It won't be a huge change tho.

what do you mean with elastic
 
yeah Ive got elastics to fix my under bite rn, honestly changes it quite a bit in a few months

Rubber bands that are attached to your upper and lower braces. I remember having those, quite unconfortable at first

they hurt and get your teeth loose but yield good results

helped me align my bite i used to have crossbite

Yeah, I think their main purpose is to fix crossbite, but can help your jaw growth if you are just a little recessed. If OP has a high degree of recession tho, he should consult a maxillo-facial surgeon
