Can expanding just your palatte make your jaw wider?

I'm not talking abt using the expanders, I'm talking abt molding the palette into a bigger one by using force to change the bones

Will it though? Cause when you usually expand your palette it's with an expander, and the expander is placed onto the 2 bones that form the maxilla, and then the gap between those 2 bones expand which in turns gives a wider palette, but could widening JUST the palette give you a wider jaw/maxilla?
