Ugh. I've been pondering that very thought ever since I met Her. Can I adapt? She once said, "Ugh. No."
It was the day of last week. The week before yesterday. I stared at her after dropping the weights near the treadmill. I winked. She turned away in shyness. So I approached. I could hear her heart pound in anticipation. As if love had its own melody and the thumping was the drums. And before I could speak a word, my mouth gaped open, she said, "Ugh. No." I knew right there that she was the one. She's the one!
But then I reflected on myself. Can I adapt? Ugh. Perhaps I'm not ready. Perhaps no woman's ready for Freddy. Ugh. Am I not but a flake of ash? Could she be the peas in my soup? Ugh. No. NO! Ugh. Yes.
But no.
