Can i ask my dentist for a palate expander

I have a narrow palate and havent gotten braces yet and im 17

I heard that there is also surgical palate expansion, called Sarpe (surgical rapid palate expansion).
But i dont know much more about it.

It can widen your palate even more than a normal palate expander basically
