Anyways the thing with colored contacts is the ones that actually look realistic deprive your eyes of too much oxygen to get a better color, so you would only be able to wear them for a few hours per day(not saying you can’t wear them for longer, but that could get unhealthy over time)

The ones that are a bit safer to wear for longer periods of time but don’t deprive your eyes of that much oxygen are only obtained through a doctor’s prescription

Also the safer lenses that are prescribed don’t really change the color of your eyes much/it looks unrealistic since it’s made to be more breathable for your eyes

Your eyes need oxygen too. Wearing contact lenses deprives them of it. How much oxygen you want to deprive your eyes of and for how long is up to you. Generally, the more oxygen depriving the lens, the better of a color it will produce, but the more unhealthy

How do you even find an oxygen depriving and non-oxygen depriving lens lol how do u differentiate it?

I dont mind it depriving oxygen, and ill wear 8-9 hours a day, i js want it to be light and look realistic

You’d need really high-end ones, like the kind used in Hollywood.
In an old thread, someone linked pretty good ones, but you’d need to search for them.
Very expensive, though.

All the cheap ones just end up looking comically fake

I'm near sighted, so I need glasses anyways.

I'm wearing contacts, so might as well as wear colored. The vision is #1, the eye color is #2.

Basically contact lenses on a microscopic level are made of this mesh-like pattern and the larger the holes in the lenses the less realistic it looks but also the more oxygen it lets through. The contacts prescribed by doctors are made to let more oxygen to your eyes while the unprescribed lenses let in less oxygen but in turn make a better color

You can deprive oxygen for however long you want, but there will be drawbacks such as irritation which could over time lead to blurry vision. How much drawback depends on how long you wear the lens and what type of lens it is

Also, I would recommend daily eye contacts instead of ones you put back in the case after you wear them and then wear them the next day because contacts can carry a lot of germs that can build up over time so daily disposable lenses are the best for preventing bacterial infections

Yeah that’s true, it’s up to you.

The daily disposable ones are made differently than the monthly/yearly ones so they are cheaper individually

But they only sell them in bulk

So for example when I used to wear contacts it was $80 for a 90-day supply
But I wore regular contacts, not the colored ones so the price might be slightly higher for colored contacts

I’m not sure of the exact brand name, I’d have to look them up again.
They were specifically designed for movie use, if I remember correctly, but the prices are insane, like 200-500$ per lens.

I’ve tried a few low-to-mid-range contacts, and especially up close, they just look stupid.

I wear mine whenever i can . I put them in so fast and easy i just pretty much wear them whenever i leave the house and its no hassle at all or time consuming

The prescribed ones you should wear for a maximum of 10 hours and the ones you get online you should wear for a maximum of 5 hours per day. There is a little wiggle room with both but not a lot, at most an hour extra to prevent hypoxia and cumulative damage.

Hypoxia is especially dangerous since it can cause permanent corneal damage
