can i train weak problem solving capacity

i always get fucking raped by math application questions when i haven’t done any similar practice questions
can neuroplasticity save me in this situation
i’m just going to try and complete 100 different application questions within the same topic before my exam but still what can i do

it depends on the issue ofc . if its questions you've studied for and done a lot of then it's a cognition issue. if you practice them and get better as you do them then that's learning.

When I was in school and during the first university year, math (including geometry) was not impossible but still quite hard for me, basically forcefully memorized formulas and laws. However, later it became easier, without anything special being done for that. What I think was changed is how I visualized problems, probably because of our physics professor who did a lot of visualizations (PowerPoint and custom animations) of where math and physics come from.
So, I suggest rethinking how you approach it and try to reframe the problems/laws/rules into something that is easier for you to get.

yeah i definitely rely on memorising formulas and rules, rather than visualisation, which is why i think application can be very difficult for me.
