Don't use anything else other than accutane while on it ngl. Your skin is constantly overturning the cause of your acne and making your face very fragile, sensitive, and dry. Adding a retinoid will not help with hydrating and protecting your skins barrier--which is being fried and continuously changed with the accutane.

I ran 80 mg daily for 4-5 months. Idk how much different the effects of a topical tretinoin are but I had 0.25 and 0.5 % and both gave me bad skin burns after I tried using them while on accutane. Id reccomend to hop off just because your skin barrier and all oils are already really damaged. Using it would only really lead to increased dryness, worse skin health, and very very irritable skin; specially under the sun(even without accutane). Its better to use lots of moisturizers with niacinamide instead. Thats what I did and my skin has never been healthier, moisturized (duh doy), and clear. Burning your skin might also leave scars if you do it often enough (Just stop using it). But everyone is different and your 20mg are very different from my 80.
