can jaws shrink thru puberty

i see a lot ppl's childhood photos n in sum after photos they have a narrower jaw than they did before, how is that possible?

A child has a small skull, naturally the features will look fuller and more developed, but once the skull grows that's your genetics not catching up with the growth spurt
