Those high IQ MSE fans in here please help, is MSE ever used to treat bimaxillary protrusion?

atleast tag someome u expect an answer from

I'm not an expert on MSE but from what I've researched it's a meme for anything outside of making your upper palate wider. I don't see how widening your palate would fix bimaxillary protrusion. The only solution is extractions or you can get midface implants so your upper maxilla matches your lower maxilla.

Problem is midface implants would work great but then I gotta get something to match jaw and I NEVER want jaw implants for several reasons but I just don’t. So I’ve been thinking top and bottom extractions to fix protrusion then DJS. But soooooo many ppl say extractions r the devil and they will fuck u up so idk

Get extractions followed by bimax or just get midface implants. Why don't you want jaw implants? Just go to Russia and get side wing or something instead.

No, it wont help. Might even make things worse. If you have maxillary cant, one side will descend a couple mm.

As an MSE patient, Ill tell you MSE is a meme.

Because jaw implants r by far the most common to have bad complications, eppley himself told me this in person, he said jaw implants r like 3x more likely to get infected and basically the lower than implant is on the face the more likely complications and since the jaw implants r on a part of the face that moves all the time. Just not good. I don’t have issue with midface implants tho but if I just get midface implants my upper 2/3 will look awesome then my lower third like a receding dying piece of my face

What other alternatives are there for the lower third? Jaw implants ascend men harder than any other surgery.

Well DJS with genioplasty deft would. I don’t want a crazy jaw just a normal healthy harmonious one. I’m 100% into my extraction + djs plan but need to research more about whether or not extractions r safe

tag me when you finalize your plan. i have bimax protrusion and crowded teeth and ive spoken with orthos and they all suggest i extract premolars on both jaws. i plan on DJS after that to bring jaw forward.

Honestly I’m considering just doing custom midface implants w eppley and a genioplasty. It’d ascend me to a decent level. Basically what ppl w protrusion like u and I need is to match with our protrusion on top and bottom. Do the midface implants will advance the top and a genioplasty will advance the bottom. My overall jaw will still be on the small side tho. Can’t win em all. Maybe I’d consider some jaw implants some day but most likely not. DJS would only help us if we do the extraction and braces which just seems like such a long tedious and expensive process plus higher stakes because if it doesn’t give you the look you want, you’ve basically chopped your face up for good

I wouldn't get mse, it's not worth the risk of getting asymmetry

there was a vid on the yt channel "the jaw project" abt how bimax protrusion was just an illusion but it has been since removed

do you definitely have bimax protrusion? Can you post pictures of your side profile? Are you black?

I see many people with proclined incisors tell me they think they have bimax protrusion that can be easily fixed with braces lol

MSE don’t do much if your bottom jaw is as narrow as your upper palate your basically screwed. Check out jaw hacks on YouTube, he got MSE and honestly it made him look uglier.

It’s absolutely not an illusion lmaooooo

If I recall correctly bimax protrusion is more of a mandibular deficiency, chin should be advanced instead of pulling back maxilla
