If we define nothing as the absence of something - can nothing turn into something?

Yes - wtf
No - Then that means that something must always be something (wtf)

nothingness doesnt contain any axioms like "nothing cant turn into something" or "0 =/= 1", it doesnt have any rules, so everything is possible in nothing

Nothing is the absence of something. So if something doesn't exist, nothing seems to exist. What is 'something' then?

what is nothingness if its the absence of something tho?

edit: unless the axiom of nothingness being defined as the absence of something doesn't apply to nothingness

You just gave nothingness a rule: "It allows everything". :feelswhat:

intuitively it seems impossible for nothing -> something bc the initial state of nothing would require something in order to make it become something but nothing = complete absence of something

therefore - something must always be something. infinity ad infinitum

nothingness is incomprehensible

you cant think of nothing because you have to think of something in order to think

I care

No
Imagine a universe of nothingness (there are no things) then no things will appear.
If there are this and you put nothingness somewhere that means you remove all matter and energy of somewhere, then the remaining matter and energy will expand upon it as much as possible and once a certain limit is reached (due to matter and energy being limited), the rest is nothingness and it will not birth things (matter and energy)

but the nature of nothing is comprehensible?
you know what i think it is - it may be comprehensible thru negation of being, but it doesnt have any sense data attached to it, its just a semantic value

it reminds me of things like numbers - you wont find a number anywhere in the world, its a mental construct, so maybe its impossible for nothing to be

arent these two statements completely contradictory
if we take what i said as a premise (i just came up with it randomly on the spot, so its prolly stupid), then no, not really
when i said you cant think of nothing, this applies to our universe which isnt nothingness, and seemingly has laws
