People one can't lengthen the maxilla, so if one is short faced one is done for. Is there no hope?

I understand, I would reply the same way. But, really sometimes one could benefit of getting a taller midface, there is a difference between a compact but normal/adult height midface and a childishly short/underdeveloped midface.

This. Although his lower third is longer, not his midface. Some sort of CW rotation via anterior downgrafting during a lefort 1 will lengthen the lower third.
