Can palatal expanders fix maxilla recession

I've heard some people say that using a palate expander will push my maxilla outwards and fix under eye support. Some others say that it will widen my maxilla and make it look more recessed. High iq people please give a definitive answer

In theory yes, it pushes your outwards means your zygomatic arch will get pushed outwards aswell and that means your under eye support will get better. Some people were reporting about 2-3mm maxillary advancement.

It only widens the jaw. It might improve infraocular support, but it doesn't advance the maxilla forward.
