People don't bring other people down to lower that persons confidence. People bring other people down to resolve their own ego. If someone ever crashes out on you or does something mean to you, they could care less about how it made you feel. They are doing it because it makes THEM feel better.

In other words, nobody is going to be mean to you because it brings you down, people are going to be mean to you because it brings them UP. Its never about you, its always about the person. Everyone is a main character in their own world. Does that make sense?
