Can someone knowledgeable help me understand how my ramus length and downward growth are correlated.

I was wondering how ramus length and downward growth correlate. Me personally i have a very short ramus and am downward grown but i dont have a recessed mandible, i think its decently forward grown. I do not have a long midface. Can having a short ramus be the cause of downward growth? if my ramus were to grow larger will my downward growth get worse, or reduce since the ramus gets longer? Is it worth chewing to try and stimulate ramus growth if my downward growth will just get worse? someone please help me.
