You'll get the "apple cheek" type of look from submalar implants rather than malar. Submalar (as the name suggests it's placed below the malar region) and are usually used for anterior projection (which projects forward), it gives a very low set bloated look. It can be used to remedy rare cases of facial depressions but more often than not they look like this on men (and an example of the "apple cheek" look):

Whilst malar implants are designed to be placed directly on the malar region and usually to the sides. These create lateral projection as opposed to anterior. They're high set and create a wider defined face rather than a plump rounded one. Examples being:

I can't think of any guys who naturally have that apple cheek look. They're usually the result of poor surgical decisions. Yours are a little lowset but I wouldn't call them applecheek. I did make them higher set in that shitty morph though

They're not always bad and usually require more careful planning when compared to other forms of implants (though at least less planning than say infras or supras). But yes OP does not need them
