Can someone tell me the point of this forum?

(I’m starting this thread because I’ve begun to wonder what I’ve actually done with my life over the past year.)

Personally, I haven't taken any information from any specific guide or thread on this forum. But I imagine that all the DIY filler threads and the entire BOTB section in general are helpful to a lot of people. And regardless of whether that’s the reason you’re here, it’s incredibly unnecessary to even upload threads or make posts unless you really have a good reason for doing so.

But then again, I know that about 90% of all new accounts (created in 2026) are here solely to rot in the off-topic section.

These accounts are only after rep and posts, which to me, makes no sense. Why would anyone want to gain fame on a forum that won't help you in real life at all and might actually make your life worse? I’ve spoken to plenty of users here who treat this like a full-time job.

@SyrianPsycho is a good example of someone who didn't fall for the allure of celebrity on a sleazy forum.

When I was little there were forums and it was a good time fior me as someone socially awkward. Then the forums disappeared and all the normies got into Reddit so you’re only allowed to agree with the predetermined npc opinions and basically it was nothing like the old forum culture so i thought it was just over forever.

A few years ago i kinda got interested in longevity because i have a fear of getting older. So I also researched some things like skincare and that’s how i found this forum bc of the guides which was nice.

So then recently i decided to have a look again but now i created a profile not just lurking. And the off topic section feels close to my old memories as a child on forums which no longer exist. So that w what I like, not many places like that on the internet anymore, only slop and cuck Reddit basically it’s ruined even YouTube which I like has a lot of ai shit nowadays.

So yeah that’s why I like this site basically + there are useful tips and guides to which is nice. And another thing I like to use it just to vent . I could never post such things on other sites or id get berated and get the ban hammer instantly. Also about the culture when I was little I was on 4chan sometimes like /a/ cause I was a bit of a weeb (not too bad though). So it had a unique culture that is a bit bizarre with humor normies will never appreciate, but in this forum I found that again which is nice. I don’t like all of that especially on 4chan I was too young and it kind of messed with my brain unfortunately but this forum isn’t as bad eg i am glad there is no gore and the porn threads I just dnr do that is good.
