Can Teens (13-16) Fast?

I’ve heard recently that fasting can help with weight loss/fatloss, but I’m a teenager and I’ve also heard there can be serious side effects from fasting at a young age. Is that true, or just propaganda?

I would say yes it’s unnecessary. As an early teen I wouldn’t recommend any harsh dieting unless your 20% or higher in bodyfat. If you have fat to loss eat in a 500-750 cal deficit, while upping your weekly cardio, training properly, and eating sufficient protein/carbs.

That way when your 18 or older you’ll have have all the important disciplines/habits to be able use things like aggressive dieting, GLP’s, and fat burners. Same reason you should wait til you’re older to try roiding
